Information On The Healing Power Of Sex

By Janine Hughes

It may seem ridiculous to some, but the truth is that engaging in intercourse has some amazing benefits for the mind and body of an individual. The healing power of sex is difficult to deny. A number of studies and extensive research has shown that engaging in sexual activity, be it through a casual or more meaningful relationship, can help to relieve a number of physical and mental ailments in the body.

To give the immune system a tremendous boost, have more sex! There is sufficient research to show that frequent sexual activity can result in fewer sick days at work. A Wilkes University study showed that students who were engaging in sexual activity produced a higher amount of a certain antibody than those students who were not sexually active.

Particularly when it comes to women, sexual intercourse seems to be the answer every time. Not only does having more sex increase the blood flow and lubrication in the vagina, but it also improves its elasticity. This is great news for mature women who may be experiencing menopause, or mothers who may have trouble readjusting after giving birth.

Extensive studies have shown that sex lowers chronic pain. This includes lower back pain, joint pain and muscle pain and may be a good alternative to taking medication, particularly due to being a natural pain reliever. Having intercourse is also a good way to get rid of a headache or migraine. Understandably, it is also the perfect solution for anyone having trouble sleeping.

Regular intercourse provides the same benefits to the body as regular exercise. This could be because all the different muscle groups in the body are targeted through the various positions and speeds involved during intercourse. What better way to reduce costs by canceling a gym membership and getting fit in a fun and frisky way!

One major benefit of having intercourse is to relieve tension and more importantly, help with depression. During intercourse, the body releases more endorphins, which are essential to feeling good. This is why post coitus, feelings of relaxation and happiness are multiplied.

One of the greatest things engaging in intercourse does is reduce stress. As it stands, stress is one of the leading factors in many diseases such as heart disease and cancer, affecting lives around the world. As a result of reduced stress and also indulging in the physical activity, having intercourse allows the body to fall into a relaxed state and get rest, which inevitably helps it to repair and rejuvenate as necessary. This in turn leads to higher energy levels, which could then result in more productivity at work or in daily activities.

Finally, sex can be healing for relationships. Research and experiment have shown that regular intercourse has helped couples feeling disconnected to find their way back to one another and form even closer bonds. This is particularly the case for couples who have children, which can often distract from the relationship between the parents themselves and lead to conflict or separation.
