Daily Affirmations - How to Use Them to Change Your Life

By David E. Morris

Positive daily affirmations can help you to reprogram your mind from the negative self talk that you have had for years. For this to work effectively, you need to repeat positive statements of a desirable outcome like a mantra on a daily basis a few times per day.Positive daily affirmations help to redirect your values, formulate goals for success or simply help you to boost your self confidence. They can be used to improve areas such as wealth, success, health, relationships or self esteem.

Affirmations are powerful so you must remember to use your words carefully. Choose words that are in complete alignment with you and what you want, choose only positive phrases and affirm them in the here and now by using words such as "I am" and "I have".When trying to manifest your desires through affirmations and any other techniques consistency is the key ( just as it is with many other things in life.) Whatever we give our attention to is what we are drawing into our life. You need to consistently place your attention on that which you desire. Visualisation combined with positive affirmations is the key to getting what you want. See yourself as already having it, let your thoughts and feelings flow to enjoying the object or the experience.

Make Them In the Present Tense. You should state your positive daily affirmations in the present tense, that is, use "I am..." rather than "I will be..." Saying things in the present tense will program your subconscious mind to believe that what you affirm is already a fact. In other words, you have no doubt in your mind that what you desire is a given and not just a wish that may or may not happen,Make Affirmations Positive. Another important tip in formulating your affirmations is to write them in the positive state. A negative statement cannot work. For instance, you should say "I am rich" rather than "I am not poor".

For thousands of years, a small percentage of the world population has been using the power of daily affirmations to help them with their health and achieve the happiness that they desire. It is simply interesting that just by repeating certain key phrases to yourself everyday can have a positive impact on your attitude. What exactly are daily affirmations and how can you use daily affirmations as you strive towards abundance and personal growth?Daily affirmations are statements said in the present tense that you reiterate daily. When used with intent, your daily affirmations can go beyond positive thinking and create lasting changes in your mind to help you to change your life.Simple daily affirmations like, "I am successful in my work" can be a great handy tool that we can use to reprogram our subconscious mind. Most successful people tend to devote at least 15 minutes a day, to practice his or her daily affirmations in a quiet and unobtrusive place. These are your private moments where you tell your subconscious mind what you want to achieve in your life.

There are also ways for you to subtly plant your daily affirmations such that you will automatically read to yourself while going through your everyday routine. You can easily stick affirmation cards which you have pre-written yourself on places like the bathroom mirror, the car's dashboard, your desk in the office, the refrigerator's door, the computer desktop, the phone's screensaver and other places that you will look at everyday. When writing or practicing daily affirmations, use words that are positive such as bright, capable, creative, strong, intelligent, beautiful, smart, giving, quick, peaceful, loving, successful and enjoyable. Combine these words into phrases that you can relate and understand easily. Examples of daily affirmations are such as, 'Have fun, be a WINNER' or 'Take the LEAD, be in CONTROL'.

Follow Up With Actions. Lastly, you will also need to put in some actions, so that you can lay the ground for their manifestation. For instance, affirming that you will win the lottery can only be possible when you buy a ticket.Remind Yourself Daily. In a hurried lifestyle with 1001 things to do, you can find it hard to remember to repeating the positive daily affirmations. Hence, put them in a visible location, like on the wall or in front of the mirror or save them in a PowerPoint slide to be used as a screensaver.

The basic idea of practicing daily affirmations is to plant positive seeds of thought into your subconscious mind. By doing this you give yourself permission to grow, to change, to take risks, to rise up, and to create a better life for yourself. Its purpose is to create self-awareness by having your spirit guide your thoughts and actions throughout your life instead of having your past tape continue to run your life for you.Daily affirmations can and will help you with your health and help you achieve the happiness you desire.
