Will The Antichrist Be A Muslim Really?

By Essie Osborn

Religion has left so many people with unanswered questions about life to come, to say the least. The common question today is the same; will the antichrist be a Muslim. There is no better way to get around this than to find out whether there are facts that give real support to this argument.

It is actually not easy to evaluate such a claim without looking at the end-time teaching form the Islamic and Christian religion. There is a prophecy concerning the Twelfth Imam. According to the prophecy, there have twelve Imams since the departure of Muhammad.

The name of the twelfth leader is Muhammad Abu. According to Islamic history, Mohammad Abu was born in 868. He later went to hiding to escape the progressing persecution in his homeland. Many people have faith that Abu, their twelfth spiritual leader, is going to come back soon. This is to happen before the coming of the Day of Judgment.

The Bible takes a completely different approach on this matter and talks of a leader who will appear just before the Day of Judgment. The Bible refers to him as the beast, which will come to deceive people by making them sign a false peace treaty for a period of seven years. The beast will then break the treaty during his reign and declare himself God over the whole universe. Many people have faith that the beast is actually the expected twelfth man whose return is expected.

The book of Daniel in the Bible takes a clear look at the empires that is to rise during the last days. The vision of Daniel talks about four empires and in it, he states that the empire, which is to rule and conquer other empires during the last days, is the the Roman Empire. The leader of the empire will not only make deceit to prosper but also declare himself superior.

The ruler Daniel sees in the dream he has is completely similar to the person whose description is given in the last book of the Bible. If this were a true analogy, it would be completely unforgiving to say that the twelfth spiritual leader expected to return by the Islam community is the beast. The antichrist is not going to come from the Islam community, to say the least.

The actual location where this false ruler would rise from is in itself quite contradicting. If he is going to emerge from the Roman Empire, that means he is most likely going to rise from among the European nations or from the Northern part of Africa. If you have no clue, the Europeans are the ones who have always been on the ruling of the Roman Empire and not Arabs.

According to most sources, there will be some sort of positive rapport between the beast and the nation of Israel. When the leader comes, he will request Israel to sign a treaty of global peace for a period of seven years and this will lead to the reconstruction of the Jewish Temple. Because the Jews and Islam will not be in good terms, there are less chances that beast will rise from among the Islam.
