The Story Of The Muslim Antichrist

By Essie Osborn

Contrary to how it may seem, the prophecy that there will be a Muslim antichrist is further proof that there is more to unite the three religions of Abraham (Judaism, Islam and Christianity) than there is to divide them. In the Book of Genesis, it is revealed that Abraham is the father of both Ishmael and Isaac, the patriarchs of the Islamic nation and the nation of Israel, respectively.

God made a promise to Abraham that he would be the father of more descendants than he could ever count. At this point, both Abraham and Sarah were in their 70s and 80s. Sarah lost hope of ever having a child of her own. She hatches a plan to have her maid, Hagar, have a child by Abraham. Both Abraham and Hagar agree. Once Hagar is pregnant, Sarah has a change of heart and throws her out of the house.

An angel of the Lord sees Hagar fleeing from her angry mistress. He told her that she would have more descendants than she could count, and to go back to Sarah. He also told her that her baby's name would be Ishmael, and that he would turn out to be a "wild donkey of a man" and live in hostility with all his brothers. Hagar returned to the household of Abraham and Sarah and had her baby, whom Abraham did christen, Ishmael. At this time, Abraham was 86 years old and Sarah, 77.

As Ishmael prepares to enter his teens, God makes an appearance before Abraham and tells him that Sarah will finally have a son. His name would be Isaac. He further informed Abraham that Ishmael would be blessed, too, and that he would have twelve sons who would lead a great nation.

Later, God decides to test Abraham. He asks him to take Isaac to the mountains and sacrifice him as a burnt offering. Having complete faith in God, Abraham obeys. Just as he is raising his hand to slay his son, an angel stops him. Isaac goes on to father Jacob, who, with the assistance of his two wives and their two maidservants, begets the rulers of the twelve tribes of Israel.

Many skeptics of Christianity point out that both Judaism and Islam were religions long before Christianity. This is untrue. The birth of Christ, the Messiah, was prophesied for hundreds before the birth of Jesus.

God sent his Son to die for the sins of mankind. It was the only legal way He could reclaim the souls lost to Satan when he tempted Adam and Eve into sin. Christ was crucified and He will return.

Who is the Islamic antichrist? according to Muslim eschatology, his name is Masih ad-Dajjal, and he will be the last of 30 false prophets, who will also be called Dajjal. The signs that will appear when the end times are close are things like people will stop praying, lying will be praised as a virtue, people will turn to worshiping Satan and elderly people will no longer be held in esteem. Should today's Baby Boomer's be concerned?
