FL Divorce Records can be found at the Vital Statistics office of the state's Department of Health. Since June 6, 1927, documents of divorce cases in Florida were kept at the office. Those that occurred prior to the said date remained in the hands of the Clerk of Superior Court of the county where the divorce was made legal.

Citizens are granted access to divorce documents because they are considered as public records. It is permitted to access your own files and it is also possible to get access of other people's files too. Although permitted, getting access to the files of other people is quite difficult. You are required to state your motive why you are requesting other people's files. If the Office Vital Statistics does not is not satisfied with your reason, your request will be denied.

To initiate a search, acquire the correct request form at the office Vital Statistics. You may also download it from their webpage. Supply all the necessary details that the form requires such as the name of the couple, when the divorce took place, and where it was made final. Also provide your personal contact details such as your full name, address and a phone number. Send your request to the office via mail. Do not forget to include your proof of identity and the corresponding fees. If you do not have any idea where the documents you want can be found, refer to the state office and they will relay your request to the appropriate county. There is a $5 fee for the first copy of a certain file and a $4 fee for additional copies. Fees apply and are non-refundable even if the requested documents are not found.

A divorce record is required should you wish to marry again after a failed marriage. Without it, you will not be given a license to marry and that will make a marriage become unofficial even if a ceremony is carried out. It is important that you check the marital background of a future partner to avoid getting into trouble in the future. You will also need it as a reference for information regarding a specific a divorce case.

Divorce records can also be obtained from online service providers that are authorized by the government to keep the records and provide them to the public. There are many service providers out there but not all of them are legitimate. Before you decide which service provider to do your search on, conduct a background check on them and collect all the facts you can about them until you are satisfied that they are legitimate and not just looking to earn fast money by fooling people.

There are two types of online service providers: fee-based and free service providers. Both can provide you with Divorce Decrees Public Record but the amount of information will vary. The former can put together an extensive version of the records. You might even get access to the pieces of information that are considered confidential. The latter can provide with the basic pieces of information regarding a divorce record.
