After A Budget Uncontested Divorce GA Both Partners Will Be Better Off Financially

By Carolyn Davis

Those years when divorcing caused social ostracising are long gone. In these modern times divorcing is common place and there are even dedicated courts dealing with nothing but the dissolving of marriages. Single parent families have become the norm. This does not mean, however, that divorcing is not painful and fraught with many conflicting emotions. Nevertheless, by opting for a budget uncontested divorce GA couples can save a lot of money.

In many cases divorces are accompanies by feelings of betrayal, disappointment and a host of other negative emotions. This often lead one or both partners to become angry or even vengeful. The result is divorces where neither partner is willing to be reasonable and in many cases they will not even communicate with each other. These types of divorces are normally contested. This is a very expensive route requiring at least two lawyers and expensive time in court.

Dissolving a marriage is not a simple matter of two people no longer living together. There are numerous issues involved. If there are children, decisions need to be made about custody and ongoing support. The estate has to be divided and all joint accounts and savings will have to be shared. In contested cases decisions about all these issues are made by the court but in cases that are not contested the divorcing couple can reach agreement by themselves.

Even couples that agreed to separate amicably therefore need some professional assistance. Most of them hire a lawyer to help them achieve a final separation agreement. This is much cheaper than hiring two lawyers fighting each other in court. The lawyer will help the couple to understand the process and the rules. He will guide them towards achieving a final agreement.

It is, in fact, not even necessary to hire a lawyer. Lawyers are expensive but there are also counsellors specially trained to help divorcing couples reach agreement on all the issues related to divorces. Counsellors do not charge half as much as an experienced lawyer but they are also experienced in helping divorcing couples to negotiate a fair and legal final agreement.

Lawyers and counsellors alike are paid for their time. It is therefore possible to save even more money by spending as little time as possible with the lawyer or counsellor. This can be achieved by reaching a private agreement on most of the matters that are involved. The counsellor or lawyer will then only have to make sure that the agreements are legal and fair.

Uncontested divorces offer numerous benefits. If both partners are reasonable and if they do not allow any negative emotions to colour their dealings with each other, everybody benefits. This is especially true if there are children involved. In bitter, contested divorces children often suffer tremendous trauma which is often carried into adulthood. A lot of money can be saved and the entire matter escapes any form of public scrutiny.

Divorcing always involve an entire legion of mixed feelings of guilt and regret. If the marriage cannot be saved, the next best thing is to at least separate on friendly terms and to be reasonable during the process. If nothing else, a reasonable approach will save a lot of money.
