How To Make Them Like You On A First Date

By Georgina Klass

Dating makes an otherwise monotonous life fun. You don't have to be in the dating scene simply to find your one true love. You might just want to have a go at online dating or you might meet people through friends or in a bar and agree to give the proposed date a chance. Whatever your reason, you should be out enjoying yourself at any age.

Maybe you just want to go on some dates to keep yourself feeling sane after a breakup (we should all live by the saying, "the best revenge is living well", after all). Whatever the reason, it's still important to make a good first impression, create a fun atmosphere and show each other the best sides of each other. Here are some top dating tips to give you some direction:

⦁ Dress comfortably but make an effort: no one wants to go out with someone on a date when they clearly couldn't be bothered to make the effort. You don't need to go all out, but you should try and impress a little;

There's nothing sexier than eye contact and showing interest in the other person: do not come across as self-involved. People subconsciously evaluate in their mind how good someone else will be to spend time with and you need to try not to fail the assessment just because you are nervous. When you maintain eye contact with someone you subconsciously show them that you are interested in them, it is a complete aphrodisiac, especially as eyes are often people's attraction points. Try to form whatever you are talking about into a question. If you explain to someone why you love a particular hobby or country, you can ask them what they think about it afterwards;

Do some of the work on the date. You'll have more fun if you also woo them! Just think that you get out of a situation what you put into it so by not bothering and making them put all the work into it, you will probably find that you don't enjoy it that much, there's been no chase;

⦁ Be confident. You don't need to be brash or try to be the life and soul of the room but having a quiet confidence about you will help the date go along smoothly. Once you've faked it, you should find it easier to be more confident. Try not to worry about making a fool of yourself - this should help;

At the end of the day the most satisfying thing you can do is know that you've been yourself through the whole process. Then if you end up meeting someone, you know they're the right person for you. However, if you just want to have a good time and go on lots of dates, remember that you should let the other person have a good time too!
